What is NYCA?
The New York Counseling Association, Inc. was formed in 1965 as the state branch of the American Counseling Association. NYCA provides the framework through which practitioners, educators, students, and paraprofessionals in the field of counseling can meet and communicate on matters relative to the profession. NYCA provides programs, services, communication, and activities in support of the counseling profession.
The New York Counseling Association (NYCA) is your direct link to our national association. As a chapter or division of the New York State Counseling Association, you are protected as an association by the umbrella both NYCA and the ACA.

SERVICES NYCA PROVIDES
Statewide Communication Of Your Chapter’s News
As a chapter or division of NYCA, you are able to reach a statewide audience through all NYCA publications including NYCA Notes and the NYCA Website. This allows you instant access to information from across the state.
Support of Your State Officers
State officers will be happy to visit your chapter or division meetings to address concerns or simply to speak about NYCA and its mission for all counselors in New York State.

NYCA is an accredited provider of CEUs. As licensure comes to fruition, it will be even more critical that our members have easy access to CEUs. Your chapter or division can offer these CEUs through NYCA’s accreditation by following some simple steps.

NYCA continues to actively monitor issues which may affect New York State Counselors, and alerts members when those issues require action.
